Are you looking for a Biblical Costume? Here's a great idea! Why not go to your party or trick-or-treating as a Pope? Represent the Catholic Church!
Can costumes and religion mix? Sure, why not? It's not like you are dressing up like the Pope and carrying a pitch fork.. well, maybe you are, but I don't need to know about that. ;)
The Pope Costume on this page includes a Long white under robe with gold buttons, lame & faux brocade & Gold trim, detachable clerical collar, lame capelet, waist sash, and matching mitre hat.
It's a great and fun choice. In a lot of respects it does go against everything Holloween. But then... maybe you aren't here to dress up for Holloween. Costume parties and costumes are not just for Holloween as you might be aware of!
In any case, if you don't know already, the Pope is the Bishop of Rome. He is the leader of the Roman Catholic Church and the head of the State of Vatican City.
So yes, he is a very popular person in the world. And how wonderful to be able to give honor to him by dressing up as him. Now again, I would guess that some people would be against that. But I know that there are many that will visit this page that aren't, don't care or are willing to take that risk. Especially if you aren't Catholic.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it personally. There are plenty of religious figures people dress up as. Dressing up like someone is okay... as long as you know and it's obvious that it is just a game.
And that you aren't seriously going to heal anybody or perform any rights at the party.
For over 1000 years, popes have played a very important role in Western Europe. And they had a large influence on a wide range of different affairs the church and state over those years. They do today.
But today they spend a great deal of their time just on spiritual matters. You won't find their hand in government or in secular affairs as you once did. But they are still a powerful and influential figure.
So you will turn many heads... might even get a few scowls. If you want to make an impact though, going to that party or whatever you're doing as His Holiness will certainly deliver.
Put a smile on your guests, family, friends or neighbors faces. Shock them a little.. even make them think about some things they might not usually think of... or don't think of enough.
